This service is for established patients. If you will be new to my practice at the Kirkland location, we ask that you call and speak to a staff member, as there is specific information that we must get from you to meet your needs. Secure messaging works a lot like email and can be used to ( DELETE:request appointments,) request prescription refills (though if you receive medications from a local pharmacy, a call there to initiate the process is faster), or to ask a general question of my office staff or nurse. Medication requests in general are processed as follows. Medication refills can be obtained most efficiently by contacting your pharmacist and have them fax a refill request to the office at 425-823-8273. If you need a written prescription to mail in, please contact us during office hours, or use the refill request form in the secure messaging feature on this site at any time. Mail in pharmacies now have their own forms that can be faxed to the office for refills as well. We require two working days to complete the prescription, and will either authorize the pharmacy to refill your prescription or provide a written prescription for your mail-in pharmacy. It is my policy to refill ONLY those prescriptions I have personally prescribed and have documented in your medical record in this office. New prescriptions will require an office evaluation. Messages are checked just once daily when we are in the office, and must not be used for urgent matters. The difference from email is that this is secure and encrypted. This means that the actual message doesn't "live" in your email file to be discovered by your family or employer. You access it directly from the website, and can do so from any computer, even when you are away from home. You must register and log in to use this service. After registering the office will confirm that you are an established patient and then activate your secure email privileges. |
